Hi my name is Randy Smith. I have been in the Austin area since 2002. I moved to Austin from DFW and brought decades of European Motorcycle Experience with me to work with The New Ducati Austin. In 2008 I had the opportunity to spend a week at the Ducati Factory in Bolognia, Italy where I was trained to be a Desmosedici factory certified technician. During 2008 I was also one of only a few Ducati Technicians to be nominated for Technician of the year!
As many of you know I previously had my own shop specializing in repairing and restoring vintage motorcycles. Ducati Austin and I have struck a deal wherein I could still work on your vintage motorcycles while still assisting those of you with newer models. I want to let all of my loyal customers know that I look forward to working on all of their old vintage motorcycles. This includes many different brands Ducati, Moto Guzzi, Aprilia, Laverda, Moto Morini, Triumph, Norton, BSA and many other brands.
Many of you know that i was very heavily involved in the Central Motorcycle Road Racing Association (CMRA) and have built or serviced a number of bikes that have won multiple championships. I was involved with the Triumph Speed Triple Challenge and I have even had the privilege of helping Ryan Andrews a few years back when he was running Ducati 749R's in the Formula Extreme.
